Welcome to my home page of the rock gorge & catpaw Canyon railroad. it is a freelance shortline, time period is from the 60's to the present.it serve's the U/P, S/P & the ATSF. A lot of switching action go's on here,we will have mineing and a concrete plant,loging and a saw mill in the town of Catpaw canyon.
Rock Gorge is a busy town and the railroad will serve the furniture factory, a mill works plant, and a paper supply company.Plus transfers cars from and to trains passing through the Rock Gorge yard.
the layout is a two level "L" shaped dog bone with a track connecting the two levels and the max grade is 3.5%.
thier is also a staging track switching off
the upper main line to the town of rock gorge and the yard. location of the layout is in a 6x8 foot
walk in closet. the original rock gorge was in a 12x10 spair bed room, it was destoyed.
but the dream lived on and when time and money was avabile
i new it was time to rebuild. photos will be added as i build this page. and the progress contues.please feel free to visit the site as work go's on.
